Cuprite with Malachite
1
Unknown Owner
This is a rather stunning example of crystallization in Cuprite. It is 'only' miniature in size, but it has a real presence about it. Added to this it is from the iconic Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Full of character, the Cuprite crystals all take the form of dodecahedra which are a much rarer shape in Cuprite than the more common octahedra. Not only this, many of the crystals are extremely lustrous with a fine deep burgundy colour, but the top of the specimen is capped with a thin green coating on Malachite, providing a nice contrast. It is certainly a very fine Tsumeb miniature.
