Dolomite Cast after Calcite$400.00

This classic Dolomite cast after Calcite from Tsumeb mine is a great small cabinet size for display. With a slightly pearlescent lustre its colour varies from almost white internally, to a pale cream colour with darker reddish inclusions across its outer surface. The internal cast reveals the outline of scalenohedral Calcite crystals but with later recrystallization of Dolomite forming a layer of crystals inwards into the epimorphic casts. The outer surface of the specimen shows the outline of the scalenohedral Calcite nicely too. These Dolomite casts are an iconic part of the mineral assemblage at Tsumeb and make a great talking point.
