A large, dramatic specimen that displays coarse, platy aggregates of very metallic and bright silvery gray Teallite. Teallite is an uncommon lead-tin sulfide and the examples of the species come from Bolivia. The mineral richly dominates the specimen with a rich, thick, 2 cm monomineralic band of Teallite running throughout. Minor subhedral Wurtzite occurs on either side. This is exceptionally well crystallized for the species and shows beautifully in person. It is hard to convey in photos because it is so reflective. This rich specimen of a very rare species is from the early 1900s expeditions of William Vaux at the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences, and later went to Rock Currier's collection. We have not had such a nice example for sale in a decade.
