Anhydrite
The Naica Mine has always been a renowned locality for superb Gypsum specimens, which is why it's no surprise the mine would produce hoards of excellent Anhydrite-the chemically identical but anhydrous version of Gypsum. This specimen is particularly large, composed of several towering, thin, light blue Anhydrite crystals on a foundation of paler, more condensed Anhydrite. Instead of the flatter, slightly curved cleavage at the top of some Naica Anhydrides, most of the crystals in this specimen are topped with splendid, jagged terminations. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
