Colored diamonds are the most desirable, usually immediately cut - and few survive for us collectors. This is a gem of a competitive thumbnail-sized mineral specimen displaying the highly sought-after macle twinning habit. This diamond exhibits superb limpid transparency and adamantine luster resembling glass. This diamond has a brilliant yellow color to it. What makes this piece stand out from the rest is the combination of shape and color that will make it unique in most suites of diamond crystals, particularly in this size. Crystallized diamonds are getting much harder to find as more are cut for the gemstone industry. This a great chance to snag one for your collection. A macle twin in comparison to an octahedron- seems like it is small in weight - but the volume-to-surface area ratio makes it more impactful than most heavier diamonds that might be octos, as it fills space differently and makes for a competitive size in a thumbnail-sized crystal display. We were VERY lucky to obtain a few Anabar crystals in one lot - nearly a decade ago from a source in the NYC gem trade, who sees parcels before they get cut. 5.40 ct, 12.13 x 11.82 x 4.70 mm.
