A large, complexly terminated crystal of Hematite measuring 4.5 cm on the longest edge dominates impressive piece. This is a very old, very classic, unique Brazilian style from early days of exports — 1960s or before. The crystal has incredible mirror luster, is sharply formed and pseudocubic with rhombohedral and other crystal forms, especially noticeable on the backside. The crystal sits on a small amount of granular to somewhat crystalline matrix. The crystal is in excellent condition with a couple of negative crystal impressions where it was intergrown with other Hematite crystals. A large, excellent crystal from this classic Brazilian locality for the species. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Hematite ps. Magnetite (SYP25-10b) and Magnetite (SYP25-10c).
