It's very rare to find a complete, large pseudomorph of Quartz after Aegirine from the Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire...or anywhere for that matter! This pseudomorph crystal measures a remarkable five inches in length and represents a complete pseudomorph of Quartz after Aegirine. The form of the original Aegirine is fairly well preserved as it shows the prism faces and terminations well. The only thing that slightly obscures the form is the growth of tiny Quartz crystals on the exterior that glisten in any incident light. It's also interesting to note that the crystal actually consists of multiple, elongate crystals in parallel growth that display a slight curvature to their length that adds character to this great pseudomorph! Probably from the 1980s. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Quartz (Doubly Terminated) (SYP25-16a) and Aegirine (SYP25-16c).
