Tsumeb in all regards is the premier world locality for Mimetite and this is a rare style of a robust and colorful crystal! This large and stunning, 4.3 cm long, translucent, lemon-yellow prismatic crystal displays a rare pyramidal termination, where most have a flat pinacoid termination. It is a beautiful crystal that is actually composed of a main crystal with a few smaller ones in very tight, near parallel growth when examined in detail. It is also color graded (although saturation of color depends on spectrum of lighting); and with a sharp, perfect termination. For the size and length of this crystal, it is unusual that it is not repaired! The Mimetite is perched on a small shard of sparkly silicified matrix containing some diminutive, 1 to 2 mm, Mimetite crystals. An attractive piece with great composition! Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Mimetite ps. Cerussite (SYP25-14b) and Cerussite (SYP25-14c).
