Pyrrhotite with Quartz$750.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
A superb and aesthetic small cabinet specimen from Dalnegorsk decorated with a half dozen, hexagonal Pyrrhotite crystals beautifully perched on needle Quartz crystals. There is a pair of sharp, perfectly flat and hexagonal, textbook Pyrrhotite crystals that are slightly intergrown on one end of the piece that measure 1.8 and 1.2 cm across, respectively. The other Pyrrhotite crystals on the piece are thicker with slightly curved, concave faces for added interest and a couple of them almost columnar showing striations on their side from the stacked, parallel growth. Two of these are set on the left side of the piece for balance and composition, and then there is a third at the middle bottom round out the aesthetics. There are also a few other smaller Pyrrhotite crystals on the piece as well. All of these crystals share a bright bronze colored metallic luster that, with their hexagonal shape, make them readily identifiable in the mineral world. A great Dalnegorsk classic from the 90s or early 2000s, with refined quality. Part of an educational set, with these additional items: Pyrite (SYP25-22a) and Pyrite ps. Pyrrhotite (SYP25-22b).
