This is a stunning miniature that is literally a jewel of a calcite! The calcite crystal is gemmy, twinned, sharp, lustrous — you could not ask for more. Minor stibnite in association is a welcome accent and confirms the pocket of origin, a famous find of the early 2000s that is now legendary among collectors. Few enough have recycled as of today, and this has to be among the most choice miniatures. Steve bought much of the pocket up at the time, as he was based in Hong Kong in the early 2000s. He then sold/traded them to the rest of us. This miniature, he kept for nearly 2 decades in his Chinese miniatures suites. It is breathtaking in person....
