The famous Milpillas Mine known for world class specimens, specifically Azurite, followed up a small 2020 find of Olivenite with the finding of the rare zinc-copper arsenate mineral Zincolivenite in late 2022 to 2023. These rare specimens form a series with Adamite and Olivenite. This miniature sized piece is a rather LARGE and SHOWY specimen from the find. There are several intergrown Zincolivenite groups taking the form of both spheres and "mohawk-like" linear ridges of individual crystals. The piece is characterized by a fantastic luster with a two-toned coloration of dark green on the spheres and a kelly green on the individual crystals. The piece is in great condition with only periphery edge contacting. If you are a collector of Milpillas, rare or Mexican minerals this will fit perfectly in the collection. It is a good one! This has been analysed. They are the world's most recent high level examples of the species, not seen in this quality since from Tsumeb, decades ago.
