This unique and large gem, transparent crystal of apatite is a special kind of thing, that towers over anything else we have seen from the region...and is unique for any apatite from any location. Bill Larson, "Burma Bill," really helped open up Burma for minerals and taught a lot of dealers in the gem market what to save and preserve in terms of specimens, back in the 1980s-early 2000s. It is because of this, that we have so many Burma specimens from those years. He brought this out himself, and kept it for decades for his private collection of Burma minerals until we purchased this collection in 2021. This is by far the finest large example he knew of (as his label attests), and certainly that we have seen. It is complete, pristine, and without damage - miraculous in size and condition. And yes, it was analysed to be sure it was indeed apatite, as it is so far off the norms of expectation! Note the interesting fluorescence under SW ultraviolet light. Comes with custom lucite base.
