Description
A very rich example of fine velvety sugilite, consisting of elongated wire-like crystals in velvety masses, on a balanced specimen of matrix. The piece also shows interesting zoning, illustrating how this material formed in layers and seams within the host rock. A superb and rich specimen from a single pocket found late in 2016, now unavailable on the market in this rich quality (we had a small lot of top pieces, held back for "the future" which has apparently arrived).
