A superb, colourful, large miniature specimen of the rare species Sugilite from the famous Wessels mine in South Africa. Vibrant purple crystal sections of Sugilite - a species that is rarely crystallized - stand out against the grey/white matrix (believed to be granular Pectolite). The colour really is quite outstanding and combined with its unusual lustre is unlike anything else in the mineralogical world.
