Villiaumite
Villiaumite is a rare sodium fluoride (NaF) and is a species considered amongst collectors as something rather exotic. This fine and substantial example is from the Khibiny Massif on the Kola Peninsula in the Northern Region of Russia. There are many Kola collectors out there and this will make a great addition should you still be needing this species for your suite. The Villiaumite is cleaved, forming a cuboid miniature with micro-stepped faces of metallic carmine red to intensely deep red, almost black, and a brilliant glassy lustre. I have checked the specimen for fluorescence but none is evident. It’s a great specimen but do remember, should you purchase it, Villiaumite is highly soluble in water, so ensure it is kept dry.\n
