A large specimen the classic Rhodonite-Galena association from the famous Broken Hill mines in New South Wales, Australia. The showy contrast between cherry-red Rhodonite crystals and blue-grey metallic Galena is a striking feature, particularly because of its excellent size. However, it should be noted that despite having a number of very large (20 to 25 mm long) chunky Rhodonite crystals on display, these are all significantly damaged apart from the longest, narrower crystal which is perched on the edge of the specimen. Many other, smaller, gemmy red Rhodonite crystals are undamaged. Overall, for its size, this is a very well-priced example of this Australian classic.
