Tucson, Arizona, USAThe lead molybdate Wulfenite never fails to please no matter where in the world it is found, yet like so many of the minerals found at Tsumeb mine in Namibia, Wulfenite from here is amongst the best in the world! This example is a mouth-wateringly delight of incredibly lustrous Wulfenite crystals, the colour of rich caramel or deep butterscotch toffee. No matter whether it is caramel, toffee or Wulfenite, it will have you reaching for the napkins to wipe away those drools! The two characteristics which initially strike you are its rich vibrant colour and the overall glossy lustre. At one side, minor remnants of a deep green matrix still adhere to the Wulfenite, forming narrow, bluish green strings and ribands. The Wulfenite forms about eight major intersecting blades, all with complexly patterned faces of multiple stepped plates. The overall translucency permits additional light to reflect internally, so enhancing the lustre even more.
