Calcite on Sphalerite
Unknown Owner
Two common minerals, Calcite on Sphalerite, combine to form one seriously beautiful small cabinet specimen from Cavnic mine in Maramureș County, Romania. Seriously, the Calcite is magnificent, forming milky pale light grey sinuous saddles typically 1.8 cm long and with glassy surfaces built form composite micro-crystals. These form a continuous riband down the centre of a plate of black metallic Sphalerite crystals. Do not underestimate this Calcite, it’s superb.\n
