A thick "bubble" of solid Smithsonite, over 2 cm in depth, anchors the center of this small cabinet display specimen from the famous Smithsonite suite of Martin Zinn, a collector of New Mexico material for decades. The piece is robust, deeply saturated in color, and has a wonderful silky luster to it that is about as good as it gets (one step more even and sparkling, so a bit better than "velvety" in my mind). It is truly a gorgeous display piece for the size, combined with color saturation, recently released from this important collection of New Mexico material.
