This very clear, glasslike sphere of quartz features sturdy and robust spears of bright red rutile within; arranged like a trident flying through the middle, with complex and beautiful side growths. It is organized and weblike, not chaotic as are most rutile inclusions from Brazil and even from Madagascar. This is notable for the strong structure and impressive geometry within, all easily visible in the highest quality optical quartz. This came from a large and important find of rutile rough in the early 2010s, and has long been in a high-level private sphere collection in China where it was cut. Hefty, at 460 grams
