This is a profound and significant cluster of Gold crystals from the Round Mountain Mine in Nevada! This remarkable piece is dominated by an extraordinary 6.5 cm single, robust foil crystal of Gold that may be indeed several, extremely thin Gold crystals neatly stacked one upon the other and then the periphery is adorned with numerous, smaller Gold crystals from less than 1 mm up to 3 mm. Several other plates of Gold crystals have grown perpendicular to the main crystal and these have a similar character, although one is distinctly composed of individual elongate Gold crystals and there are other smaller crystals scattered about this cluster up to a few millimeters in size! For me, this particular robustly crystallized style is my favorite of the various styles that came out here in the early to mid 2000s and this has got to be one of the top Gold specimens from Round Mountain of this style and in its size class, with razor sharp crystallization and robust size. It presents dramatically as an important, competition level small cabinet specimen. It is an older specimen dating from the late early 2000s finds here, that we originally purchased from an agent directly representing the miners and cleaned up in the lab ourselves, which allows us to offer it at what I feel is a relatively reasonable price for these modern classics, which in this quality are simply not on the market anymore. 29.72 grams (1.05 oz)
