Jet-black color, highly metallic luster and complex growth forms highlight this Cassiterite on Quartz miniature from Burma! We don't often see good Cassiterite specimens from a pegmatite, let alone Burmese pegmatites, and this is a good one with numerous parallel growth forms, sharp edges along with lustrous crystal faces. The association with white Quartz provides additional contrast and aesthetics. This is excellent as both a display and locality specimen from Myanmar! From Bill Larson's Burma collection, purchased by him on the ground there. I had never heard of such a thing and you imagine that very few must have survived.
