The wires seen in this specimen are actually elongated and spinel twinned crystals. We seldom see large examples from this old discovery. At over 1.2 ounces, this is a very significant and heavy example of the kind of old Colorado gold that drove the Colorado gold rush in the late 1800s. It consists of a dense birdsnest style cluster, very tightly wound together. 44.44 g.
