The Jeffrey Mine, now closed, is well known for its beautiful specimens of both grossular garnet and vesuvianite. This particular specimen is an exquisite thumbnail. It is a 2.5 cm, doubly-terminated crystal with a pleasing green color. It is complete and better in person! The micro crystals on the side of the main crystal are very sparkly in person. These aren't coming out anymore as the quarry long ago closed, sadly.
