Two dozen, stout, black, glassy Schorl crystals are reclined on a matrix of translucent, gray-white Quartz on this small cabinet piece from an obscure Burmese pegmatite. The 0.5 to 2.2 cm long crystals exhibit a glassy luster on their terminations and a glassy to silky luster on their striated prism faces. An unusual matrix specimen of Schorl tourmaline from Burma, and with very interesting aesthetics and sharp form, as displayed horizontally.
