Description
A wonderful non-Alpine-type "iron rose" of Hematite from the classic Ouro Preto District in Brazil. The lamellar-growth, hexagonal plates on this specimen have excellent, splendent, metallic silvery-gray faces forming the classic "rose" shape that makes these specimens so desirable. The larger, near parallel growth crystals at the rear of the piece measure nearly four inches across and the two subordinate groups at the front are around two inches across. This excellent, piece is complete-all-around and has only minor contacting at the base. A very good, highly lustrous, metallic, layered Hematite rose with rust-red highlights on the edges from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
