Tucson, Arizona, USAA rich botryoidal mound of lustrous dark leafy bottle green Olivenite crystals of 2 to 3 mm is perched on top of red-brown rusty Goethite over a metallic silvery-grey Chalcocite matrix. This outstanding thumbnail specimen is from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia and comes form a famous modern miniature and thumbnail Tsumeb collection. The Olivenite has formed in three primary botryoidal clusters of up to about 1.4 cm diameter stacked on one another. This beautiful specimen is mounted on a labelled acrylic base, although is held on by mineral tack so can be easily removed if desired.
