Calomel with Cinnabar and NATIVE Mercury
Calomel, a rare mercury chloride mineral, was first described from Landsberg in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This large miniature specimen from Landsberg hosts intergrown crystals of light brown to grey Calomel lining a number of cavities measuring to 1.4 cm across and associated with red Cinnabar, and other undefined species. Minor green areas of Malachite are also present. One small cavity has a metallic bubble of Native Mercury in it. From a well respected German private collector. A rich example of Calomel from the Type Locality region.
