Tucson, Arizona, USAA triangular-shaped small cabinet specimen of pastel minty apple green Smithsonite forming intergrown crystals up to around 1 cm. The distinctive feature of this Smithsonite is its remarkably pearlescent lustre which, above anything else, makes it most memorable. This beautiful and eye-catching specimen is from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. Smithsonite crystals have formed over both sides of a white-grey matrix of mixed Willemite and Calcite. Without doubt a beautiful example of pearly lustred Smithsonite from Tsumeb. This excellent small miniature comes on a labelled acrylic base and is ex the collection of a famous thumbnail and miniature Tsumeb collector.
