Beudantite and Segnitite
A rich small cabinet specimen of Beudantite and Segnitite, both occurring as equant micro-crystals and indistinguishable from one another, save by analytical means. From the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, both species occur as deep chocolate-brown crystals with a high lustre which causes them to sparkle in the shallow vugs, which they completely line. The matrix is a massive mixed sulphide, thought likely to be Chalcocite and Djurleite, based on their colour, lustre and morphology. Beudantite and Segnitite are relatively rare minerals in the Tsumeb mine and this is a very rich example.
