Smithsonite on Dolomite

A splendid razor-sharp rhombohedral Dolomite crystal measuring 1.3 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm is nicely perched atop a small mound of milk-white Smithsonite micro-crystals . The Dolomite has a pearlescent lustre and is various shades of cream and delicate tan-cream, differentiated by internal cleavage planes which punctuate the crystal faces. Much smaller but similarly perfect Dolomite rhomb are distributed over the Smithsonite making for a delightful small miniature from Tsumeb.
