Calcite
Unknown Owner
A spectacular sharp and spikey Calcite from the one-off discovery around the year 2000 in Leiping Mine 884, Guiyang County, Hunan, China. Making this specimen even more desirable is a superb Calcite twin nestling amongst all the other crystals and measuring 2 cm from tip-to-tip. The Calcite forms elegantly slender and very sharp acicular crystals, mainly colourless and gemmy, and many tinted burnt apricot-red due to Hematite staining. A beautiful and quite unique Calcite from Leiping Mine 884 in China complete with a custom-built acrylic base with integral stand, milled recess, and name plate.
