Tucson, Arizona, USAThis splendid water-clear, colourless Calcite is from Dal'negorsk in Primorsky Krai, Russia and shouts for attention due to its gorgeous internal reflections and the play of light across its heavily striated crystal faces. The Calcite is distorted to the point where it appears like a globular mound of clear jelly, punctuated here and there on its sides with what is likely laminated Pyrrhotite coated in micro-crystals of tan coloured Siderite. An extremely attractive thumbnail Calcite from this classic Russian locality.
