Boracite
Boracite is a relatively uncommon magnesium borate and this terrific 7 mm diameter equant and euhedral crystal is from its type locality at L'neburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. The pale bluish-green-grey crystal is set in a small matrix of mixed pink and white Gypsum from the exhumed caprock of an actively buoyant salt dome (salt diapir). The slowly rising salt dome forms a small hill close to the town of L'neburg. Collecting at this site is strictly prohibited, making this specimen all the more interesting.
