Morocco has produced the most spectacular specimens of Vanadinite the world has seen, spectacular in terms of crystal colour, size and association. This gorgeous cabinet specimen comprises of a distinctly intense red form of Vanadinite with a superb glossy lustre. The perfectly formed platy hexagonal crystals are richly spread across a snow-white matrix of cockscomb Baryte partly encrusted with matt black oxides. Held against the light, the Vanadinite crystals become translucent, turning a little more towards barely sugar orange. The largest Vanadinite crystals measure up to 1.2 cm between flats and contrast wonderfully against the black and white matrix. A show stopping Vanadinite on Baryte from the Mibladen Mining District at Midelt in Khénifra Province, Morocco. Ex Professor Werner Paar collection, this association of beautiful red Vanadinite on cockscomb Baryte dates to finds in the early 2000s.
