Witherite
A fine single crystal of the barium carbonate Witherite, forming a 6 x 2.3 cm hexagonal crystal with a pinacoid (flat) termination and coated in a snow-white film of Baryte. One partly missing face, from where the crystal was originally attached, reveals the glassy grey Witherite interior. A class Northern England specimen from Nentsberry Haggs mine on Alston Moor, Cumbria.
