Wire transfers available, to set up
Rich deep rose pink crystals of Cobaltoan Smithsonite form a gently rounded dome resting on a naturally flat base. The specimen is from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, where Smithsonite was the most abundant secondary zinc mineral. Coloured pink by traces of cobalt, the crystals although vivid pink do contain a reddish tinge, making this specimen standout all the more. The crystals are completely intergrown forming as characteristic curved rhombs and measuring up to 1.4 cm on edge. Their faces are smooth yet display growth ripples generally placed diagonal to the prism face with a most attractive silky lustre. This is a beautiful miniature Cobaltoan Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
