Calcite on Rhodochrosite
Unknown Owner
What can only be described as a very pretty specimen from Cavnic mine in Maramure? County, Romania, with two habits of Calcite coating delicate blush-pink Rhodochrosite crystals averaging around 5 mm. Glassy, highly lustrous milky Calcite crystals to about 1 mm preferentially coat the Rhodochrosite crystals from one side and on top of the specimen sit two separate, 1.9 cm diameter, balls of chalky-white Calcite. A beautiful large miniature Calcite and Rhodochrosite from Romania.
