Tucson, Arizona, USAA triangular thin plate of matrix is entirely overgrown with distorted rhombohedral crystals of Cobaltoan Smithsonite, which range from 0.3 to 1.3 cm across. A specimen from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, the crystals tend to be flattened, so tending towards lenticular prisms and are of a mid-candy pink which grade toward light grey in one corner. The crystals have a variable lustre, from satin-matt to semi-lustrous. A lovely example.
