Tucson, Arizona, USAAlthough Willemite is common throughout the mine at Tsumeb in Namibia, it usually occurs as blue and blue-green glassy crystals, often as botryoidal druses. This splendid large thumbnail specimen is the relatively scarce, bright lemon-yellow cadmium-rich variety and mixed with snow-white Calcite crystals looks like a delicious lemon meringue pie. The Willemite forms transparent globular crystals to around 3 mm diameter which are separated by complex multi-face equant Calcites of similar size. The specimen is mounted vertically on a small square acrylic base.
