Tucson, Arizona, USAThis is a great specimen of Cobalt enriched Smithsonite from a classic location, namely the Tsumeb mine. The Smithsonite crystals are sharply rhombic in habit measuring to 1.1cm on edge. They are gemmy to translucent light pink, with internal phantoms, and lustrous with faintly striated faces. The Tsumeb Mine is world renowned for producing classic mineral specimens, and Cobaltoan Smithsonite comes under such banner. This is a particularly superb specimen with the sharp form, excellent lustre and silky internal reflections off the phantoms, a real treat!
