This small miniature from Tsumeb has various sized Smithsonite crystals of light minty-tea green, almost peppermint, richly distributed over a bed of snow-white sub-mm rhombic Calcite crystals. The Cuprian Smithsonite forms crystals of increasing complexity commensurate with their size. The smaller crystals are regular rhombohedrons whereas the larger, up to 1.1 cm wide crystals, have stepped corners that form pyramidal faces tending more to pseudo-octahedral habits. A delightful and pretty Cuprian Smithsonite from Tsumeb.
