Crystal ClassicsFeatured
Tucson, Arizona, USACalcite is ubiquitous throughout the various mineralised deposits within the Dal'negorsk district, within Primorskiy Kray, in the Far-Eastern Region of Russia, and is known to produce many crystal habits. This terrific ex-matrix small miniature of milky to colourless scalenohedral Calcite crystals forms a parallel array with crystals typically 4 cm tall. The crystals grade from translucent cloudy bases to semi-transparent, whitish-colourless terminations ending with modified tips. Prism faces display stepped, often triangular growth patterns and all have a bright glassy lustre. A delightful miniature Calcite from Dal'negorsk, a true Russian classic.
