Topaz
Unknown Owner
Imperial Topaz is a rare cream, orange to pink gem variety of Topaz which was first found in Russia during the 18th century but was very quickly surpassed in its quality by a discovery at Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. This variety of Topaz is also crystallized in a very different form to most other Topaz, with vertically striated prisms with a sloping termination. This magnificent terminated single crystal of Imperial Topaz from Ouro Preto presents a pleasing warm orange colour and a gemmy to translucent body but is most impressive due to its sheer size - measuring 7.4 cm in length. Not many Imperial Topaz crystals reach this level of quality. This beauty comes with a purpose-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand.
