Description
A super-rich miniature of crystallised Cuprite covering the top surface of a Goethite-Limonite gossan from Tsumeb mine in Namibia. The Cuprite crystals lie flattened across the matrix's surface and are all interconnected forming a crystallised mass. The more individual octahedral crystals measure up to 0.9 cm wide and where the Cuprite forms plates, these attain 2 cm across the longest dimension. All crystals have a highly reflective mirror-like lustre and although appearing metallic grey from a distance, are seen near to as bright cochineal red and claret. A beautiful miniature Tsumeb Cuprite.
