Clinoclase (Ex. Neeld circa 1800)
Clinoclase is one of the holy grails of Cornish minerals. This display specimen is rich and colorful with a highly unusual presentation of the crystals as pinwheels on matrix: Lustrous, flattened clusters of fan-like, teal blue clinoclase, to 4 mm in length, are emplaced on matrix in dozens of flat pinwheels. The piece comes from several English collections to me (provenance on purchase), and is said to be from the Joseph Neeld collection, circa 1800 (Colonel Joseph Neeld (1789
