TANGDANITE
Tangdanite is a relatively new calcium copper arsenate sulphate hydroxide hydrate species, related to Tyrolite with which it looks very similar. Described in 2012, it is identical to the species formerly known as Clinotyrolite, which has been renamed. The Bartolomej mining field in Slovakia has produced some of the richest specimens of this mineral and this large miniature specimen is a great example. Upon it, Tangdanite forms blue-green pearlescent flat-lying sprays along joint surfaces and fractures with a little Clinoclase in association. The Tangdanite is really rich and makes a superb example of this rare and colourful species.
