Attractive, nicely-colored specimen of Cobaltian Smithsonite with unusually shaped crystals; the Smithsonites have a good pink color, and the lustrous, satiny crystals have an unusual, slightly rounded habit, like fat rounded UFO's. The matrix of this small cabinet specimen is richly covered with the Smithsonites, and they range up to 1.2 cm. Unusual, and beautiful, this stands out from most pink smithsonites and was well chosen by the previous collector. With Tsumeb long-closed, choice display pieces like this in the quality and size are getting harder and harder to come by at reasonable prices and we were lucky to get one small collection of such pieces last year.
