This is an extremely large, intensely gemmy and impressive crystal of Realgar from China that rivals any mineral in the world for intense red color! These were found in the mid 1990s and shocked the mineral world at the time, selling for multiples of their weight in gold. It's nearly three inches long and an inch and a half in width with excellent crystal form. It is completely transparent from top to bottom with the most intense scarlet red color! Typically these are scattered on matrix, of a much smaller size, and not a large, single, prismatic crystal such as this. It has one tiny ding at the top and small chip off to the side at the top, nothing that matters visibly, in context, for such a large and commanding Realgar crystal. NOTE: these are very light-sensitive, so you must keep them out of the light! Keep them in a closed box, away from humidity and light, and they should be OK. WARNING: If they stay in your case they will ultimately turn orange or brown!
