Lengenbachite is an extremely rare silver copper lead arsenic sulphide named after the Lengenbach quarry in Switzerland where it was discovered in 1904. A century later and it is known from just a handful of localities worldwide and always as microcrystals. This superb specimen, featuring Lengenbachite with Realgar in the typical white sugary Dolomite matrix and accompanying glass tube containing carefully picked Lengenbachite crystals is from the superb systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021). Prior to them it was in the Mineralogy and Petrology Institute at Bern University. The Lengenbachite occurs as black elongated microcrystals within a small cavity on the specimen and as loose crystal fragments within the glass tube. In case you are not familiar with the locality, Lengenbach quarry is a remarkable site, home to 51 new species (as their Type Locality), most of which relate to the metamorphosed arsenic sulphosalt/sulphide deposit.
